I have owned my Acer Aspire 6920 for about a year. Today, it will not access the internet on our wireless setup. The other computers in the house aren't having a problem getting on the web. This has happened once before, but I can't remember exactly how I fixed it at that time, naturally.
I was able to connect my desktop (Windows XP) to the router via ethernet. The WLAN light glows on it showing that it is ON. And on turning ON my laptop's wiFi, it gets connected to it too. But, it shows "No internet Access" with an exclamation sign it the network area of the notification bar in my laptop (Windows 7). Provided you haven't made any configuration changes to your wireless network, go look at the sticker on the bottom of the router and get the SSID and network key off of it (for better security, you really should change these and use a different security method, but it will get you up and running and you can work on the rest later). The laptop itself recognizes that there is such a network set up, and it can pick up the signal. I think there is a setting in Windows 7 professional that I can't find. Is there a third party firewall, other than win 7 firewall itself? If there is, uninstall it for the time being & see how it goes.
