And if you have IPv6 enabled without the Ipv6 DNS you can run dcdiag /test:dns you will receive errors stating that DNS servers could not be contacted. Trust me I fix this issue on a regular here on EE. If there is not ::1 there is no loopback on to a DNS server for IPv6 which will again cause errors.
